We are a licensed substance abuse treatment center providing compassionate, compliant care to individuals seeking recovery. We are seeking a detail-oriented Intake Credentialing Professional to support our admissions and intake process by verifying client eligibility, insurance coverage, and authorization requirements.

Job Summary

The Intake Credentialing Professional is responsible for insurance verification, eligibility checks, and intake authorizations for individuals seeking services. This role ensures accurate benefit verification and compliance prior to admission, supporting timely access to care and clean billing.

Key Responsibilities

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to admission
Confirm coverage for substance use disorder treatment services (PHP, IOP, OP, residential, as applicable)
Obtain and document prior authorizations and intake approvals
Confirm client demographics, payer information, and coverage limitations
Communicate benefits, co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements to intake staff and clients
Maintain accurate, audit-ready intake and credentialing documentation
Coordinate with clinical, admissions, and billing teams to ensure proper intake clearance
Track authorization dates, service limits, and re-authorization timelines
Ensure compliance with payer, state, and HIPAA requirements

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in intake credentialing, insurance verification, or admissions in healthcare or behavioral health
Strong knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes
Experience working with Medicaid, Medicare, and/or commercial payers
Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced intake environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health treatment
Familiarity with PHP, IOP, and outpatient levels of care
Experience with EHR or intake management systems
Knowledge of state behavioral health regulations a plus
