We are seeking a Construction Contract Safety Compliance Specialist to join our client’s team. The Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with safety standards across construction contract documents. Key responsibilities include analyzing contract elements related to safety, reviewing safety submittals, managing safety-related change orders, and auditing contractor compliance with safety protocols. This role also involves maintaining thorough records of safety observations, modifications, and reporting safety issues to construction management.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive reviews of contract documents to confirm safety compliance.
Facilitate and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) related to safety, especially for high-risk activities such as rigging.
Process and manage safety-related submittals to ensure adherence to NYPA standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct safety audits on contractors, report findings, and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain detailed records of safety observations and communicate contract modifications as necessary.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in safety compliance on construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, contract management, and construction safety practices.
Familiarity with NYPA safety standards is a plus.
Strong analytical and documentation skills, with proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Procore).
Preferred certifications: CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician).
