SafeBridge Consultants, Inc. is a unique global resource for high level safety, health and environmental support to the pharmaceutical, chemical, and biotechnology industries. SafeBridge currently has an opening for a Senior Industrial Hygienist (IH) assisting our Industrial Hygiene/Consulting operations based in New York City, US, serving clients primarily in the New York-New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware region. Job Summary

You will fill a key position in our growing IH Business Unit performing industrial hygiene assessments at research and development (R&D) and manufacturing facilities mainly in the mid-Atlantic region along with national and international opportunities. Primary support will be in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. You will collaborate with a senior team of recognized experts in industrial hygiene, safety, toxicology, risk assessment, and analytical chemistry.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and communicate quantitative IH sampling plans
  • Perform quantitative IH assessments at client sites, typically focused on airborne pharmaceutical, chemical, and noise monitoring
  • Compile and analyze IH results using statistical methods
  • Prepare, review, and communicate technical reports
  • Advise clients on IH program development, control solutions, containment strategies
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative exposure and risk assessments
  • Advise clients on facility and equipment design for employee protection
  • Develop and deliver technical health and safety training
  • Conduct biological risk assessments and develop control strategies with a focus on biological safety levels 1 and 2
  • Support client biological safety programs by helping with implementation of key components such as bloodborne pathogen programs, medical surveillance, signage, training, proper handling
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships
  • Collaborate and coordinate IH strategies with internal colleagues
  • Work with existing and new clients to develop and deliver proposals
  • Provide occupational health guidance and leadership to clients who deal with a variety of potential workplace hazards
  • Participate in business development and marketing plans


A successful candidate will have established experience following scientific methodology for risk analysis and hygiene evaluations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented professional with a positive attitude and who values accuracy, efficiency, and reliability. We are looking for an organized collaborator with a passion for customer service and for protecting worker health and public health.


The position has many travel opportunities and has a flexible work environment when not traveling. This position will report to a Managing IH.


Requirements

  • US Citizen or authorized to work in the USA
  • Remote full-time position (40 hr/wk) with flexible working hours; however, must be available during core work hours of 10 AM to 4 PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday
  • Estimated travel 30%, highly variable based on client schedules
  • Location: NYC metro area, New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, or Delaware
  • BS/BA in Science, Engineering or related field (MS/MA preferred)
  • At least 5 years of professional experience providing IH services in an industrial environment. Experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotechnology industries is required
  • Professional Board Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH) and/or Certification in Safety (CSP) preferred
  • Biosafety program management and risk assessment experience is desirable with experience in risk assessment and controls for novel biopharmaceutical compounds
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Office/365 Suite
  • Superior written and oral communication skills along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with time management and organizational skills
  • Good judgment and discretion when working with confidential information
