How You’ll Contribute…
The Safety Specialist will work to implement and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and corporate safety standards. This role is responsible for evaluating the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions. The specialist ensures compliance with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures. Additionally, the role involves coordinating corporate safety training, supporting independent safety consultants, and maintaining corporate safety program documents and required OSHA documentation.
Key Responsibilities…
Understand and administer the safety program to maintain a safe work environment on all projects and sites.
Maintain and update the safety program, including the safety manual, hazard communication manual, and training materials in compliance with OSHA and applicable state and client safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Develop and deliver safety training sessions for employees and management.
Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics.
This position is currently located in Omaha, NE – future travel up to 50%.
What You’ll Bring…
Proven experience as a safety specialist in a construction or similar industrial setting.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and construction safety practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Good physical condition and stamina.
Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or 1-5 years relevant field experience.
Certification in health and safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) or working towards certification is a plus.
