Safety Manager - Located in Appleton WI at our main office
The Safety Manager contributes to the overall success of Coenen Mechanical and its customers throughout the formulation, development, and coordination of safety and loss control functions. Uses experience and knowledge of safety, federal safety regulations, and construction principles to ensure all goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within safety guidelines, as well as all designated quality, schedule and budget requirements. Provides leadership to the overall organization and works with all other interested parties to ensure ultimate customer satisfaction.
· Monitors compliance with government regulatory agencies such as OSHA, MSHA, DNR, etc.
· Collaborates with management, shop, and field operations to improve safety and health onsite and for the company overall.
· Interfaces with customers and general and specialty contractors, as well as trade associations to facilitate best safety practices and compliance and provide an appropriately consistent approach to health, safety, and environmental issues.
· Actively participates in daily risk management and toolbox talk meetings, including leading and/or facilitating discussions when possible.
· Serves as primary contact for onsite safety-related issues or concerns.
· Completes jobsite safety audits, identifying unsafe conditions and work practices, and ensures appropriate corrective actions are taken.
· Provides support to on-site personnel.
· Assists in task safety analysis and pre-planning.
· Trains employees in Company general safety practices including, but not limited to: Aerial Lift, Forklift and New Hire Safety Onboarding.
· Creates, completes, submits, and tracks forms of written communication including, but not limited to toolbox talks, site-specific safety plans and forms, procedures, and correspondence.
· Conducts accident investigations and recommends corrective action (if warranted) based upon incidents and/or trends. Determines the cause and identifies the means of prevention.
· Conducts various drug testing processes across the organization: pre-employment, random, reasonable/for cause, and post accident.
· Provides guidance to field employees, project supervisors, and management on matters concerning employee health & safety, public safety, and environmental safety.
· Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
· Wears all assigned PPE and always observes safety guidelines.
· Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.
· Completes all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
· Represents Coenen Mechanical in a positive, professional manner at all times.
· All other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
· Three to Five years of experience in heavy industrial or construction safety.
· Bachelor’s degree in safety or construction management.
· A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
· Ability to travel to provide onsite safety management within the United States.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.
· Ability to complete all training and perform job duties within safety guidelines.
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with the Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
· Must have a valid driver’s license, insurable driving history and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe, courteous driving habits.
· Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship and will require living in Appleton WI to work in our main office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
