Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough verification of patient insurance information prior to appointments or procedures.
- Communicate with insurance companies to obtain accurate coverage details and eligibility.
- Update and maintain patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in insurance information.
- Assist patients in understanding their insurance benefits and coverage options.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies related to patient privacy and data security.
- Provide support to billing departments by supplying necessary information for claims processing.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare administration is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with patients and insurance representatives.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
