Job Summary
Assistant Safety Manager II may be a night shift position that works with multiplecontractors, LAWA inspection, the Project Management Team, and others in order toensure assigned projects are implementing effective safety programs and meeting therequirements of the contract documents with regards to safety and securityrequirements. Work with Contractor Safety Team, LAWA Inspecti on Team, Project Management Team, and others inorder to ensure assigned projects are implementi ng effecti ve safety programs.2. Walk all assigned projects on a regular basis and possibly multi ple ti mes daily which can total a fewmiles a day.3. Engage with the LAWA TDG Safety platf orm to perform Task Hazard Analysis audits and report safetyobservati ons.4. Meet with LAWA Inspectors and other stakeholders regarding safety concerns and follow-up acti onstaken by the contractor.5. Review writt en Safety Plans and verify results of safety performance and compliance in the field onan ongoing basis to evaluate the effecti veness of the implementati on.6. Assist the Project/Constructi on Manager to verify that contractors comply with writt endocumentati on requirements including weekly \"toolbox\" meeti ngs, new employee orientati on, dailysafety inspecti on reports, any accident/incident and related investi gati on reports, provision of\"competent\" or authorized persons documentati on including training records and Job Hazard Analysis(JHAs).7. Be self-moti vated individual who can research perti nent requirements not readily available.8. Coordinate with management to promote the proacti ve and behavior-based TDG Safety Programboth internally and externally (e.g., Nati onal Safety Council, trade and professional organizati ons, etc.)and to bring positi ve publicity to the program and TDG.13. Contribute to the advancement of TDG's goals through commitment to producti ve collaborati onwith all stakeholders .14. Ability to multi -task and prioriti ze competi ng responsibiliti es.Hardware/Software Knowledge1. Effecti vely use Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro soft ware.2. Large-scale constructi on management type soft ware such as Prolog, VEO, Procore and othercomputer soft ware and applicati ons as needed.3. Create PowerPoint presentati ons.Project-Specific Requirements/NotesEducation/Training:1. May be required to possess an active Board of Certified Safety Professionals(BCSP) Construction Health and Safety Technician credential or better2. 5 years of vertical, tunnel or heavy civil construction experience3. May be required to attain Cal OSHA 10/30 hour Authorized Trainer4. May be required to be an American Red Cross CPR/1st Aid instructor.5. High School Diploma (or equivalent)Element-Specific Requirements:1. May assume other duties as required/needed2. May be required to work past regular work shift and to come in on a regular day offand during regular off hours.3. May be required to start a regular shift at any time of day or night4. May be required to start a regular work week any day of the week5. May be required to conduct Cal OSHA training to LAWA staff and others6. May be required to provide CPR/1st Aid Training7. Will be required to pass the federal background check and obtain a LAWA Badgewith RACCI, Customs, and Driver icons8. Will be required a vehicle that can access the AOA.9.
