Environmental Health and Safety Technician 2
Job Location: Camden, AR
Schedule: 6:30 -5:00 M-TH Pay Rate: $43
6 months minimum, Temp to Hire preferred
$166 Per Diem & GSA Travel
Job Description: The EHS Technician supports the development, organization, administration, enforcement, and continuous improvement of EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, county, local, and customer requirements.
We are seeking all levels of experience!
Essential Functions:
- Copying IH files and saving them to the network server.
- Conducting noise dosimetry for Building 60's new shaker table after installation.
- Performing quarterly IH sampling for Chromium (VI) at Building 48.
- Collaborating with Maintenance and Brady on the new Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Assisting the Safety team in addressing open audit findings.
- Fulfilling requests for ergonomic assessments.
- Participating in GEMBAs and safety audits alongside our safety team.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Reviewing Facilities Engineering Tooling Acceptances (FETA).
- Safety work permits, including hot work and confined space, as well as handling radio calls.
- Providing support for after-hours on-call duties.
- Conducting post-incident safety investigations.
- Evaluating machine guarding.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience in manufacturing
- Strong technical understanding of environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and practices.
- Practical experience developing, training, and implementing EHS programs and trainings.
- Ability to research technical information as required.
- Ability to manage time and projects across multiple sites or programs.
- Demonstrated ability to work under general, consultative direction and manage programs independently.
- Competent computer skills related to Microsoft office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance from the US Government which requires United States citizenship.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- 40 CFR RCRA Certified
- EHS-related professional accreditations: OSHA 500, COSS
- Involvement in high performance programs: VPP, ISO 45001, 14001
- Strong root cause analysis skills
- Experience using and leveraging EHS common systems, such as Gensuite
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analysis skills
- Exhibits sound judgment and professionalism in all situations.
- Ability to use data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI to analyze data for use in developing forward plans.
