A Safety Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of construction projects. Also responsible for developing and implementing safety programs and procedures to protect employees from workplace hazards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits for Underground Utility and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
- Provide Operator Qualification (OQ's) and safety training to employees.
- Maintain safety records, reports and training activities.
- Stay up to date on safety regulations and best practices.
- Promote a culture of safety in the workplace.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in safety, or minimum of 3-5 years of experience in safety management
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and problem-solving skills
